The NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid basic course is designed for people who are responsible for providing first aid in the event of an accident on a mining installation or offshore platform. This course teaches participants how to provide adequate first aid.
The course provides the knowledge and skills to provide first aid to victims of accidents or acutely ill persons on offshore installations, to escort sick or injured persons during transport, to provide coordination and assistance in the event of accidents involving multiple victims, to manage the first aid resources on board the offshore installation, and to carry out specific medical procedures with radio medical advice from a supporting doctor.

Contents NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid - Basic
The NOGEPA Offshore First Aid 2.2A course covers the following topics:- Basic principles of first aid
- Stopping bleeding, wound treatment
- First aid for shock, loss of consciousness, bruises and broken bones
- Reanimation, use of AED and administration of injections (on doctor's advice)
- Immobilization of patients in case of possible back and/or neck injury
- First aid for drowning
- First aid for hypothermia
- Personal hygiene when treating wounds
- Transport of injured / sick persons
- The use of first aids

Basic training NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid
This training is a basic training and is meant for people who are not (or no longer) in possession of a valid NOGEPA 2.2 (A or B) certificate.
